We usually toss up between City Garden or Uncle Billy’s - opposite side - in Northbridge China town , as they’re institutions & one of the few places in Perth open to the early hours! It was opened until 4am on Friday, 2.30am all other days & closed Wednesday. Tonight we went to City Garden and ordered the salt and pepper squid 🦑 $23.80 & fresh lemon tea 🍋 $4.30 & sat outside with the heaters before moving inside. Although the squid tasted freshly battered and cooked,it took a bit long to arrive & the serving was a bit small for the price. However the atmosphere is buzzing & always has lots of characters after a late night out. Take cash for 5% discount on bill 💵 #citygarden

The bowls were unclean, had to clean them myself before using them(should have taken photos before I wiped them). Waited over half an hour for stir fired noodles(still waiting even after the congee and fried rice were both served). I was hoping at least the flavour worths the wait. Unfortunately, the noodles were very watery and the oil didn’t taste fresh either. Ordered a milktea but it came out curdled which is normally an indication of milk being not fresh. Sadly, they refused to admit to that. If it’s not because they are the only one open till late here, I’ll definitely not come here and won’t come back again. What a waste of money and time.

This is our go to when we are in Perth. Best food options. We love the salt and pepper quid, butter beef, fried tofu and fried rice.

Ordered food to study at library. Added the note to ask for Utensils because it’s kinda hard to eat soup with my hands or finger at the library while I’m studying. Came with a note like this and no utensils

Amazing food, good portions & value for money. All our (5) dishes were flawless & delicious. Very cool atmosphere. staff were super attentive & welcoming. would definitely come back and recommend.

City Garden is one of the original restaurants in this part of China town. It has been here for more than 30 years now. It serves Hong Kong style food. The good part of this restaurant is that it stays open till late. You can now eat outdoors during the summer months and this is wonderful when the weather is great. My only gripe is that the bathrooms could be better maintained.

This 5 star is for the food, pricing and their opening hour 👍🏻. I went there earlier at 1am and ordered for myself and hubby before my friends came. The century egg porridge and chicken fried rice was perfect to our liking. Second time there, I ordered shredded tongue malatang, seafood fried rice, salted egg fried eggplants and fried mantou as dessert. As they're really good, this place is on my top list for Chinese restaurant.
